A warehouse property on one of Birmingham’s main corridors has sold to a new owner.
BNSF Railway, a freight railroad company, purchased the property at 325 Finley Blvd. for $1.975 million in a recent deal. Ogden Deaton of Graham & Co. brokered the transaction.
Information from Graham & Co. said the buyer purchased the property in order to expand its adjacent operation.
The property is approximately 160,000 square feet and was formerly home to Kemp’s, a towing and wrecker service. The property is located close to the Alabama Farmer’s Market, longtime restaurant Niki’s West, as well as several industrial businesses that take advantage of the location near the railroad tracks and Interstate 65.
The large Birmingham Food Terminal property located nearby sold last year to an investment group led by Colliers International Alabama for $20 million. The group said it plans to enhance, redevelop and further develop the 1 million-square-foot industrial park. It was honored as one of our Commercial Real Estate Deals of the Year.
The transactions in the Finley Boulevard area show continued interest in metro Birmingham industrial real estate, which is an increasingly tight sector of the local real estate scene.
