Gun maker Steyr Arms Inc. has purchased two buildings in Bessemer from Builder’s Millwork LLC for more than $1.37 million, according to public records.
Trussville-based Steyr paid BMW Real Estate Holdings LLC $41.61 per square foot for the buildings – together 33,046 square feet – at 2530 Morgan Road S.E. in Bessemer, Jefferson County deed transaction records show.
That’s a little below the asking price of $1.54 million, or $46.75 per square foot, that I reported in August.
Steyr, a subsidiary of Austria-based Steyr Mannlicker, plans to relocate from Trussville and triple its workforce to 21 in a $1.7 million expansion. The company is slated for about $100,000 in incentives from Bessemer.
Jack Key of J. Key Properties LLC represented the seller. John Coleman of Graham & Co. LLC represented the buyer.
