Another investor has scooped up a property on the U.S. 280 corridor – the latest in a string of sales on one of Birmingham’s busiest roadways.
An undisclosed local investor purchased the 11,431-square-foot building at 146 Resource Parkway for $1.8 million, according to Terry Ponder of Ponder Properties Commercial Real Estate.
The building, which sits on a 1.95-acre lot, also includes a 1,500-square-foot storage building. The property is 100 percent occupied, with Plantation Patterns as the tenant.
Ponder represented the buyer, while Graham & Co.’s Sam Carroll represented the building’s owner.
The building is located behind the Rogers Trading Co. building on U.S. 280. That property is now listed for lease by Ponder Properties after the recent retirement of the owner of Rogers Trading.
U.S. 280 has seen a surge of investor activity, involving both large and small deals, as well as new development. One of the most recent high-profile deals was the purchase of the red-roofed buildings at the Colonnade for $131 million.
In addition to a number of office sales , there has also been a wave of hotel deals on the 280 corridor.
