(Birmingham, AL, January 6, 2020) — Brookmont Realty Group, LLC has joined Graham & Company, LLC to create one of the largest commercial real estate (CRE) firms in Alabama.
Founded in 1978, Graham & Co. currently leases and manages more than 10 million square feet of office, warehouse, industrial and retail space throughout Alabama and Florida. Graham has offices in Birmingham and Huntsville and on Florida’s Gulf Coast. In the last two years alone, Graham completed nearly 500 lease transactions valued at approximately $275 million. They brokered over 150 sales transactions during that same time and have developed more than 7 million square feet of commercial real estate since 2000.
Brookmont was founded by Charles Simpson and David Walker in 1997, who later welcomed Bo Grisham and Eddie Nobinger as principals. Brookmont’s four principals share 152 years of collective commercial real estate experience in markets including Dallas, Atlanta and Birmingham. Brookmont is a full service CRE firm, with a particular focus on Class-A Office management, development, leasing and brokerage.

Charles is a 1982 graduate of the Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business and majored in Commercial Real Estate. He began his career in Dallas, Texas with M.E.P.C. American Properties focusing on Class A office leasing and development. He was then recruited to work for CARTER in Atlanta, Georgia where he worked on the development and leasing team of CARTER’S Class A office towers Campanile and Eleven Hundred Peachtree Street which were two of the first office towers built in Midtown Atlanta. He later moved back to his home town of Birmingham and joined Sloss Development Group to work on the redevelopment of the former Southern Company HQ building on Shades Creek Parkway, now known at Synovus Center. Charles later teamed up with David Walker in founding Brookmont Realty Group, LLC in 1997. Some of Brookmont’s notable developments include Lakeshore Crossings Business Park, Synovus Center and Concord Center in downtown Birmingham. Charles has completed numerous real estate transactions throughout his career representing landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers of commercial real estate.
Charles is a committed supporter of the Birmingham community. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Art Fund, Inc., and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Birmingham Museum of Art. He has served on the Highlands School Board of Trustees and a former member of The Altamont School Alumni Board and the Operation New Birmingham Community Board. Charles and his wife Kate have three children and is a member of Independent Presbyterian Church.
A University of Alabama graduate, Bo began his career in Birmingham in 1984 with Engel Realty Company. With a passion for architecture and preservation, in 1985, Bo was fortunate to have the opportunity to act as Development Coordinator for the first downtown loft project ever completed in Birmingham: The Wooster Lofts. After his success with that project, he was recruited by the Sloss Development Group—where he worked on the historic Dr. Pepper Building office renovation among others in the burgeoning days of the Lakeview District.
Bo’s next stop—and his last before Brookmont—was Southpace Properties, Inc. where he worked as a broker representing Landlords and Tenants for 11 years. Bo joined Brookmont Realty Group as a partner in 2002 to lead its Brokerage Division.
Outside the office, Bo has been active in the Alabama Trust for Historic Preservation for which he served as President, and also served on the boards of Design Alabama, First Light, Parnell Memorial Library Foundation and currently Kirkwood by the River.
Active with Independent Presbyterian Church, Bo and his wife Kay have two children.
Edward attended the University of Alabama and is a native of the Birmingham area. In 1973 Edward began his working career in the electrical trades and received both his Journeyman and Master Electrician Certifications. In 1980 Edward began his career in real estate with Holloway Chase Properties at a property formerly known as Birmingham Plaza Office Tower. In 1984 this property would be purchased by Colonial Properties. Edward would remain with Colonial Properties for the next 27 years and eventually assume management responsibilities for over 16 million square feet of office property located in the southeast. Colonial Properties Trust would sell in 2011 and Edward would join the team at Brookmont Realty Group. Edward holds a real estate and broker’s license with the State of Alabama. He is a member of IFMA and past president of BOMA. He holds professional designations of RPA, FMA and CFM.
Edward and his wife Cathy enjoy spending time at the lake with their children, grandchildren, family and friends. He considers himself an old car buff and has been involved in the restoration of several vintage automobiles. He also enjoys home restoration and has assisted in several home building projects including Habitat for Humanity. Edward is a Trustee of the Shannon Volunteer Fire Department. He is an active member of Shannon First Baptist Church, where he serves on the Board of Deacons.
