An automotive supplier is entering the Alabama market with a major property buy.

An undisclosed auto supplier has purchased a manufacturing facility from Borgers USA Corp. in Tuscaloosa County.

Financial terms of the deal and more information about the buyer were not disclosed.

Seth Berry of Shannon Waltchack represented the seller in the transaction, and Ogden Deaton of Graham & Co. represented the buyer.

“This property has many advantages with it’s ideal location, situated in one of the hubs of Alabama’s vehicle assembly plants and automotive suppliers,” Berry said.

Located at 17490 Brookwood Parkway, the 169,115-square-foot building sits on 25.12 acres a mile away from the Mercedes-Benz plant in Vance.

Mercedes-Benz has been a major driver of automotive activity in Alabama, paving the way for other original equipment manufacturers such as Honda and Hyundai — and most recently Mazda and Toyota — to invest in the state. Automotive suppliers, which precede and follow those big manufacturers, are critical to the success of the industry.

Last year, Alabama saw $8.7 billion in capital investments and about 17,000 new jobs.
